Fetha Styx Sockeye, Coho Rod
This past sockeye season I used a Fetha Styx rod that proved to be perfect for this fishery. I used it with downriggers and it was an excellent choice for sockeye, which are like battling big kokanee. When they near the boat they thrash and jump and many are lost before you get them to the net. This rod has a very soft tip and made it possible for myself and those who used the rod put more fish in the cooler. I would also recommend this one for use for coho. It is a 10-footer and is rated for 4- to 14-pound test line. This Chrome series rod is now one of my favorites. Everyone that used it wanted to know more about it. The model number of the rod is FS-ST-1002-2S, which makes it a spinning rod. I’ll bet they are making in a casting model, too. If you are looking for a “light” salmon rod for sockeye, coho or pinks or even large rainbow or steelhead, you will fall in love with this one from Fetha Styx.
