I acquired a Fetha Styx Homewater Walleye rod about two years ago, and fell in love with it immediately. I used it for trolling spinners and found it to be excellent no matter what weight bottom bouncers I used. I like very light weight when fishing shallow, to get the bait well behind the boat, but have used bouncers as heavy as 3 ounces and still found the rod sensitive enough to see the blade turning on the spinner. I recently used the rod for fishing blade baits and it was perfect for this “touch” application. The model I have is the 7-foot, 6-inch fast/medium light. I find this casts like a dream, and has amazing sensitivity when “buzzing” a blade off the bottom. It also has the backbone to put it to a fish that has taken the lure when 40 feet deep. The rod is rated for 6- to 12-pound test line (I use it with an Abu Garcia Revo STX loaded with 10-pound Izore Platinum mono), and 1/8th to 3/8 ounce lures. This is a premium rod, with all the best materials and components that come with that standard. Due to its casting quality I have also used this rod to cast crank baits for bass and found it to be excellent. The rod is extremely light but very strong. I think any angler that gives one of these a try will find it to be their favorite rod for a lot of reasons.
