When I was at Fish Camp this year Lindsey Phelps from Columbia River Knife and Tool was there. She had brought a variety of products that CRKT offers and I said I would be interested in talking to her about what she had that would appeal specifically to anglers. Well she sat down with me and the fillet knife that she showed me I already owned! The fillet knife that I have been using for the past four years is the Big Eddy II model. I had chosen this one as it has a 9-inch blade, which is ideal for filleting the big kings that we get on the upper Columbia. I like the way this blade keeps it’s edge and the flex in the blade is just right. I also like the textured handle. The other one she showed me is called the Big Eddy, as well, and it has a blade that is 6.75 inches long. This one is perfect for filleting smaller fish, like walleye, perch, trout, etc. Both of these come with a hard sheath that even as a lanyard. I can tell you from personal use that you would really like owning the Big Eddy II. If you want to learn more about these knives and all that CRKT has to offer visit their web site at
