“The Barbless Hook”, by Dennis D. Dauble
This is a book about fishing that I can relate to. I have a book shelf full of hard backs that take a nostalgic view of what it was like to fish famous rivers or lakes way back when, or ask questions about the ethics or the soul of an angler that border on religion. Dennis D. Dauble just tells us about his experiences on the water. I felt that I could have been one of the characters in the chapter “Bad Net Jobs”. I appreciate the questions posed in “Partners in the Zodiak”. I think most anglers will find themselves described in the situations or circumstances that Dauble shares through his writing. It is a joy to read. Just plain fun in a time when fishing issues lead us astray from the core reasons we fish. Just go to Amazon books and get one. You’ll be glad you did. Then pass it on to a fishing buddy. He’ll appreciate it and probably pass it along, too. I’ve done this myself and I don’t know whose hands are on my copy now, but I am sure they are getting a kick out of reading it.
